Where are they now?
Unfortunately all but a few of the above now remain. Due to the over bearing rules and regulations that the government introduced in the 90’s and in this decade majority of the above companies have ceased trading, consolidated, merged or sold off their pensions ‘book’ to other companies. A lot of the above companies had very good plans for their day, but these are now not appropriate as modern pensions offer much better value, choice and flexibility.

Job Changes
Many people nowadays change jobs regularly. There are many reasons for this including pay rise, house move, redundancy etc. If they were members of their company’s pension scheme, then when they leave, their pension stays with that company. This means that people have small pension pots with many different employers.

Whilst the money is invested in the pension fund it is not managed with their change in status. Frequently these small pots are just forgotten! Furthermore the original adviser may have been made redundant or moved away, your pension plans are not given the attention they deserve. Because of the above pension plans under-perform. The danger is that if your plan is not managed properly you may not achieve financial security in the future.

To help you understand the extent of the problem which we call The Poor Performing Pension Pot™ – and to show you what can be done to potentially enhance the performance of your plan so you can strive for financial security we are offering you the Personal Pension Review.
